Meal Service

School Meal Service

During remote learning, Finley School District will be handing out meals each day at designated bus stops (see the schedule HERE). Meal delivery will begin on Finley’s first day of school, Tuesday, September 1st. Please remember that Monday, September 7th is a holiday (no school), and there will be no meal service that day.

What you need to know:

  • All children ages 1-18 eat free.
  • All students and families need to wear face masks and socially distance when picking up meals.
  • Some food will need to be refrigerated immediately. Please follow instructions on food preparation and handling that comes with every meal.
  • Out-of-district families enrolled in Finley schools should contact our Transportation Department at 586-3217 for your designated bus stop location/time.
  • Anyone with meal delivery questions is encouraged to contact the District Office at 509-586-3217.

Please note that when the district eventually transitions to hybrid learning, our meal service will change. We will communicate updates as they become available. If you have questions, please contact the District Office at 586-3217.

Out-of-School Meal Service

Just as we did during the Spring 2020 school closures, we will ensure all students receive meals each weekday. Meal deliveries will only be provided for enrolled students at the bus stops beginning Tuesday, September 1st. We are awaiting further guidance from OSPI on food service requirements and will communicate updates and expectations as they become available.

In-School Cafeteria Procedures

When students are approved to return to school in-person, we will alter physical spaces, reconfigure schedules, and adopt necessary plans to provide meals to students that ensure six feet of physical distance between all persons.

To avoid situations in which students are gathered in groups, we will adjust our typical breakfast and lunchroom service schedule in each of our schools. Students in all grades will be served a Grab and Go meal for breakfast and lunch to limit exposure. In order to accommodate physical distancing requirements, our schools will utilize the spaces available as needed for mealtime, including cafeterias, gyms, and/or classrooms.
