Changes to School Meal Delivery

Changes to School Meal Delivery
Posted on 10/16/2020
Now that we are transitioning students into a hybrid in-person learning model, we are making changes to how and when school meals will be provided. These changes are effective beginning Monday, October 19th. If you have any questions, please contact your child's school or the district office at 509-586-3217.

Here's what you need to know about Finley's School Meals:

  1. ALL students eat free (includes one breakfast and one lunch each day, Monday-Friday).
  2. Students must be enrolled in Finley School District in order to receive meals.
  3. The District will only deliver meals by bus on Wednesdays. These are remote learning days for ALL students, and all enrolled Finley students may receive their meals at the bus stops.
    • On Wednesdays when buses deliver meals, they will follow a 2-hour delay schedule. (Add 2 hours to the times that the bus is normally scheduled to arrive at the bus stop. For example, if the Route 4 bus is normally scheduled to stop at the Piert Turn Around at 6:55 AM, it will be delivering meals at that stop at 8:55 AM on Wednesdays.
  4. On days that students attend school in-person, they will receive and eat their meals at school. At the end of the day, students will be sent home with meal packets to be eaten on the following day when they are in remote learning at home. (See schedule below.)
  5. Students enrolled in the Online-Only option will need to complete the Online Pre-Order Form. Their meals will be available for pick-up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at the RVHS Kitchen between 9:00-10:00 AM. On Wednesdays, online students may pick up their meals at the bus stop.

Students in 6th-8th Grade:

For the week of October 19th-23rd, students in 6th-8th grade will still be in 100% remote learning. During this week, 6th-8th grade students may pick up their meals between 9:00-10:00 AM from Finley Middle School. Meals will be available for these students to pick up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. When 6th-8th grade students begin school with their assigned cohort on October 26th, they will follow the meal schedule in the table below.

Students in 9th-12th Grade:

From October 19th-30th, RVHS students will still be in 100% remote learning. During these two weeks, 9th-12th grade students may pick up their meals between 9:00-10:00 AM from River View High School. Meals will be available for these students to pick up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. When 9th-12th grade students begin school with their assigned cohort on November 2nd, they will follow the meal schedule in the table below.
