Benton PUD Presents Energy Savings Check

Finley School District is incredibly grateful to the Benton PUD who presented Finley School District with a rebate check for $109,508 at our school board meeting on Monday, September 23rd! The check, presented by PUD Commissioner Lori Sanders, represents the 0.5 million kilowatt hours (or $37,000) saved annually by our district! The money from the check will go back into Finley's bond funds to be used for finishing up capital projects.

All of these energy savings are credited to outstanding conservation efforts throughout the district's 2017 bond project, which has included improvements to the interior and exterior lighting at Finley Elementary School, Finley Middle School, and River View High School and the district's administrative offices.

Benton PUD's Conservation programs were implemented in 1980 to help reduce Benton PUD's overall need for power. These savings are passed on to customers, and the project helps the PUD meet the conservation requirements of the Initiative 937, also known as the Energy Independence Act, approved by voters in 2006.
